The Kebar Valley sits at the crossroads of some of the richest avian biodiversity on the planet. Over 300 bird species inhabit the surrounding Arfak and Tamrau Mountains — including Birds-of-Paradise, Bowerbirds, and the iconic Western Crowned Pigeon. The Kebar Valley stretches 94 to 116 km from east to west, enclosed by the Tamrau Mountains to the north and the legendary Arfak Mountains to the south. Month 1

Orientation & Survey

Settle in, learn the terrain, begin species surveys alongside local community members. Establish baseline knowledge of the valley's avifauna.

Month 2

Training & Fieldwork

Lead guided field sessions with trainee guides. Teach identification skills, field methodology, bird call recognition, and ethical birding practices.

Month 3

Independence & Documentation

Trainee guides lead expeditions with your mentorship. Compile species documentation, contribute to the valley's growing ornithological database.
